Terms of use
Short version: the files are yours to use, including commercially. They come with no guarantee of accuracy and no liability of any kind — cut and fold a sample before you spend money on tooling. Do not scrape the site or resell it as your own service.

1. What this service is
Box Blanks generates packaging dielines from dimensions you enter. It is free, needs no account, and everything is generated in your browser. There is no charge, no subscription and no download limit.
2. The files you download
Dielines you generate are yours to use for any purpose, including commercial work. You may modify them, share them, send them to a converter, and use them in products you sell. No attribution is required and no licence fee is payable.
Exported files carry a line of metadata naming where they came from. You are free to remove it.
3. No warranty, and no guarantee of accuracy
Dielines are provided “as is” and “as available”, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude all implied warranties, terms and conditions, including as to accuracy, correctness, completeness, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
In particular, and without limiting the above, we do not warrant that any dieline is accurate. A generated blank may contain errors. It may not match the FEFCO or ECMA construction whose code it displays. It may not suit your board, your grade, your machine, your converter, your product or your process. Dimensions, allowances, flap depths, slot widths, glue lap widths and crease positions may all be wrong for your application.
Where a template is marked as having been checked against the published plate, that records that a visual comparison was carried out. It is not a guarantee that the file is correct, and it is not a certification of conformity with any standard.
4. Your responsibility before you spend money
You are solely responsible for checking any dieline before you rely on it. Specifically, before committing to tooling, a print run, a material order or any other cost, you must:
- print the file at 1:1 and cut and fold a physical sample in the board you intend to use
- check every dimension against what actually has to fit
- have the file reviewed by your converter, die-maker or packaging engineer
- satisfy yourself that it meets any standard, specification or regulation you need it to meet
Treat what you download as a starting point to be verified, not as a production-ready file. If you skip that step, you do so at your own risk.
5. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Box Blanks and its operator are not liable for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the site, the dielines, or any inaccuracy or defect in them. This applies whether the claim is in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, misrepresentation or otherwise, and whether or not the loss was foreseeable.
The excluded losses include, without limitation:
- tooling and die costs — cutting formes, steel rule dies, stripping and blanking tools, and the cost of remaking them
- production and print costs, make-ready, set-up, machine time and downtime
- wasted or scrapped material, board, ink and finished stock
- damage to goods packed in a box made from a dieline obtained here
- rework, recall, replacement, carriage and disposal costs
- loss of profit, revenue, contracts, business, goodwill or anticipated savings
- any indirect, consequential, special or incidental loss of any kind
This is a free service provided at no charge and with no commercial relationship between us. Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited in aggregate to £1.
If you are using the site in the course of a business, you acknowledge that you are not relying on any statement, representation or assurance not expressly set out in these terms.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Nothing in these terms affects the statutory rights of a consumer.
If you are dissatisfied with the site or anything you download from it, your sole and exclusive remedy is to stop using it.
6. Indemnity
If you use a dieline from this site in your own commercial work, you do so on your own account. You agree to indemnify Box Blanks and its operator against any claim brought by a third party — a customer, converter, supplier or anyone else — arising out of your use of the site or of any file obtained from it.
7. Standards and codes
FEFCO and ECMA are independent standards bodies. Box Blanks is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to either. Their code numbers are used as the industry shorthand they are, to describe box styles. All geometry here is generated from our own parametric code; no drawings are reproduced from either organisation's publications.
8. What you may not do
- Systematically scrape, harvest or bulk-download the catalogue by automated means
- Copy the site's code and run it as your own service
- Present Box Blanks output as your own generator, or resell access to it
- Use the site in a way that degrades it for others
Generating the dielines you actually need — however many that is — is exactly what the site is for and is not restricted.
9. What we own
The source code, design, written content and name are owned by the site operator and protected by copyright. Nothing here transfers rights in them.
The dieline geometry itself is functional and derived from published standards, and we make no claim to own box constructions as such.
10. Privacy
No account, so no personal data is collected. Nothing you generate is uploaded or stored — dielines are built in your browser and never reach a server. The site records anonymous, cookie-free usage statistics (which template styles are downloaded, in which format) to decide which templates to verify next. There are no cookies, so there is nothing to consent to.
11. Availability
The service is provided without any guarantee of availability, and may change or be withdrawn at any time. It is a free tool, not a contracted service.
12. Changes
These terms may be updated. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
