FEFCO 0887 Box Template Generator
E-commerce wrap with peel-and-seal strip. A glued slotted case built for the post: the breadth flaps meet at the centre, the length flaps lap over them full width, and one long wall carries a peel-and-seal liner tab hinged past each of its flaps. The deeper tab holds two adhesive bands either side of a tear strip — one seals the parcel out, the other seals it back for the return — so it packs and returns with no tape gun at either end.
Not yet plate-checked. This template folds, closes and exports cleanly, but its blank has not yet been matched against the standard's own drawing in detail. Treat it as a starting point and check it before you spend anything.
What is FEFCO 0887?
FEFCO 0887 is a standard board construction. The deeper tab holds two adhesive bands either side of a tear strip — one seals the parcel out, the other seals it back for the return — so it packs and returns with no tape gun at either end.
Uses
- Transit and e-commerce packing, where the box is handled by a carrier
- Protecting or separating goods inside a larger case
- High-volume packing lines, since a pre-glued blank erects in one movement
Advantages
- Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
- Arrives glued and flat, and erects quickly by hand or by machine
- Cut from offcuts or lighter board than the outer case, so it adds little cost
Disadvantages
- The glued joint sets the minimum order — short runs are rarely economical

Recommended board grades
Folding boxboard or solid bleached board, typically 250–450 microns. Heavier board for larger cartons, lighter where the carton is filled by machine.

Measured against the FEFCO p122 plate with scripts/plate-diff.py. CHECK at 0.846 (cut 0.846/1.000, crease 1.000/1.000, silhouette 0.969), up from 0.403 once the blank was re-read as a slotted case rather than a lid box. Every unmatched cell of the plate — all 332 of them, and none of ours are unmatched at all — lies inside the two liner tabs, and every one is the zigzag hatching the plate uses to mark where the adhesive band goes. That is a printed instruction to the converter, not a line the die cuts, so it is deliberately not drawn (the same call readyglued.ts records for the manufacturer's-joint symbol). The tear perforation between the two bands IS tooling and is drawn. Not promoted to verified: the ceiling here is the hatching, so a higher number would have to be bought by cutting something the box does not cut.
