FEFCO 0501 Box Template Generator
Sleeve around the sides. A glued tube that wraps the four sides of a box, leaving the top and bottom open. Used on its own as an outer wrap, or as the outer half of a slide-type box.
Not yet plate-checked. This template folds, closes and exports cleanly, but its blank has not yet been matched against the standard's own drawing in detail. Treat it as a starting point and check it before you spend anything.
What is FEFCO 0501?
FEFCO 0501 is made from more than one piece, with an inner tray or frame sliding inside an outer sleeve. A glued tube that wraps the four sides of a box, leaving the top and bottom open. Used on its own as an outer wrap, or as the outer half of a slide-type box.
Uses
- High-volume packing lines, since a pre-glued blank erects in one movement
Advantages
- Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
- Arrives glued and flat, and erects quickly by hand or by machine
- The two parts can be made from different boards, or printed differently
Disadvantages
- The glued joint sets the minimum order — short runs are rarely economical
Typical industries
- General packing and light manufacturing
Recommended board grades
Single wall E or B flute, or solid board for the smaller sizes. Both pieces are usually the same board so the slide fit stays predictable.

No plate badge, and the reason is measured rather than doubted. This blank shares a fold topology with its siblings in its group, and scored against each of their plates through scripts/settle-shared.py it reaches 1.000 on a rival against 1.000 on its own. A fit that solves for proportions cannot tell two same-topology plates apart, so a match here rules other readings OUT rather than ruling this one in — see the docstring in scripts/grant-badges.py. Rival scores: 0502 1.000, 0503 1.000. The drawing itself is not in question; only the claim that it was checked against THIS plate rather than a sibling.
