FEFCO 0307 Box Template Generator
Telescope box, self-locking corners. Both pieces lock at the corners without glue or stitches: a hooked tongue at each corner threads through a slit cut in the wall beside it, so the box ships flat and erects by hand. The usual choice when the packer has no gluing kit.

What is FEFCO 0307?
FEFCO 0307 is built from two or more pieces, most often a separate lid over a body, so the depth can vary with what is packed. Both pieces lock at the corners without glue or stitches: a hooked tongue at each corner threads through a slit cut in the wall beside it, so the box ships flat and erects by hand. The usual choice when the packer has no gluing kit.
Uses
- Jobs where the depth or the fit has to be adjusted after packing
- High-volume packing lines, since a pre-glued blank erects in one movement
Advantages
- Arrives glued and flat, and erects quickly by hand or by machine
- The two parts can be made from different boards, or printed differently
Disadvantages
- Needs 2 separate pieces, so there is more than one tool and more than one part to handle
- The glued joint sets the minimum order — short runs are rarely economical

Recommended board grades
Single wall B or C flute is usual. The lid and body are often the same board; a heavier body under a lighter lid is worth considering where only the body carries the stack.

Measured against the FEFCO p34 plate with scripts/plate-diff.py. Two pieces of nearly the same size — tray base 81.0 x 60.9, lid base 82.1 x 63.2, walls 20.4 on both, so the lid is a full-depth telescope rather than a shallow cap. Each corner is a hooked tongue hinged to the side wall on the tray and to the end wall on the lid, eleven cuts of it, with a two-segment slit in the adjoining wall at 0.67 and 0.29 of the wall depth for it to thread through; see `setHookCorners` for the profile, which is one shape read off both pieces independently and found to agree to a hundredth. MATCH at 0.991 (cut 1.000/1.000, crease 1.000/1.000). Not promoted to verified: 0303 and 0306 carry the same crease topology on the same construction.
