FEFCO 0325 Box Template Generator
Body sleeve with returned rims and double-walled caps. Three pieces: a glued body whose top and bottom edges each turn a shallow rim inward, and a cap over each end whose four walls are all folded back on themselves. The corners are left open — nothing is tabbed, locked or webbed — so the doubled walls are what hold the caps square.
Checked against the plate. This blank has been compared side by side with the drawing in the FEFCO Code, 12th Edition, and matches. That is a statement about the drawing, not a guarantee — always cut and fold a sample before committing to a die.
What is FEFCO 0325?
FEFCO 0325 is built from two or more pieces, most often a separate lid over a body, so the depth can vary with what is packed. Three pieces: a glued body whose top and bottom edges each turn a shallow rim inward, and a cap over each end whose four walls are all folded back on themselves. The corners are left open — nothing is tabbed, locked or webbed — so the doubled walls are what hold the caps square.
Uses
- Transit and e-commerce packing, where the box is handled by a carrier
- Jobs where the depth or the fit has to be adjusted after packing
- High-volume packing lines, since a pre-glued blank erects in one movement
Advantages
- Arrives glued and flat, and erects quickly by hand or by machine
- The two parts can be made from different boards, or printed differently
Disadvantages
- Needs 3 separate pieces, so there is more than one tool and more than one part to handle
- The glued joint sets the minimum order — short runs are rarely economical
Typical industries
- Export and freight
Recommended board grades
Single wall B or C flute is usual. The lid and body are often the same board; a heavier body under a lighter lid is worth considering where only the body carries the stack.

Measured against the FEFCO p38 plate with scripts/plate-diff.py. Body: glue lap 5.9, then panels 77.9 / 58.0 / 77.9 / 58.8 on a wall 39.1 deep, with a 10.2 rim returned over a 1.7 band at both edges and slit apart at every panel joint. Cap: base 82.4 x 62.4 with all four walls doubled — 12.2 wall, 1.4 band, 11.9 return on the sides and 12.1 / 1.7 / 11.7 on the ends — and nothing at the corners. MATCH at 0.977 (cut 1.000/1.000, crease 1.000/1.000). What moved it from 0.412 was not the cap at all but the cap DEPTH: this builder's default was 20% of the body wall and all three of its plates draw 30% — see the note on `capD`. Not promoted to verified: 0331 draws a closely related doubled cap.
