FEFCO 0360 Box Template Generator
Hexagonal double-walled tray and lid. Four pieces. A hexagonal floor with a wall on each of its six edges; every wall folds over a narrow band at the top and a second ply drops back down inside it, finishing in a flap that lies on the floor. A separate strip creased into one lap of the hexagon stands inside as a liner. The lid repeats the whole construction on a hexagon pushed out by two calipers and a clearance, at a shallower wall.
Not yet plate-checked. This template folds, closes and exports cleanly, but its blank has not yet been matched against the standard's own drawing in detail. Treat it as a starting point and check it before you spend anything.
What is FEFCO 0360?
FEFCO 0360 is built from two or more pieces, most often a separate lid over a body, so the depth can vary with what is packed.
Uses
- Retail and gift packaging, where the box is seen by the customer
- Protecting or separating goods inside a larger case
- Jobs where the depth or the fit has to be adjusted after packing
Advantages
- The two parts can be made from different boards, or printed differently
- Cut from offcuts or lighter board than the outer case, so it adds little cost
Disadvantages
- Needs 4 separate pieces, so there is more than one tool and more than one part to handle
Typical industries
- Gift and premium retail
- Retail display
Recommended board grades
Single wall B or C flute is usual. The lid and body are often the same board; a heavier body under a lighter lid is worth considering where only the body carries the stack.

Scores 0.072 against p40, and SCORED PIECE BY PIECE the answer is that two of our four pieces are genuinely wrong. Run `python3 scripts/plate-diff.py --pieces 0360`: piece 2 and piece 3 come back at 1.000, cut and crease 1/1 both ways, while piece 0 scores 0.132 (cut 0.262/0.302, crease 0.249/0.301) and piece 1 scores 0.398 (cut 0.398/0.477, crease 0.714/0.459). Half the blank is exact and half of it does not resemble the plate. THIS CORRECTS AN EARLIER NOTE HERE, which guessed that 0360 was 0310's ceiling — the artefact where a plate draws its pieces at proportions no single box has, so the joint fit cannot exceed a half while each piece is individually right. 0310 really is that, and per-piece scores it at 0.991 and 1.000. 0360 is not: fitting each piece on its OWN proportions does not rescue pieces 0 and 1, so the layout is not what is costing the score. The plate is 288.8 x 134.5 and lays four pieces out wide; we stack them portrait. That remains true and is no longer the explanation. Whoever picks this up: the defect is in two pieces, not in the whole tray, and the two that are right should not be touched.
