Crash lock base, fold-in top is a folding carton with a glued side seam, closing at each end with a tuck, a lock or a glued flap. Self-erecting glued base with a plain fold-in top and no tuck tongue. Fast to erect, tight at both ends, and nothing to catch as it closes.

Uses

High-volume packing lines, since a pre-glued blank erects in one movement

Advantages

Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
Arrives glued and flat, and erects quickly by hand or by machine

Disadvantages

The glued joint sets the minimum order — short runs are rarely economical
