What is Reverse Tuck End (RTE)?
Reverse Tuck End (RTE) is a folding carton with a glued side seam, closing at each end with a tuck, a lock or a glued flap. The workhorse retail carton. The top tuck folds from the back panel and the bottom from the front, which lets the blanks nest tightly on the sheet — cheaper than a straight tuck for the same box.

Advantages
- Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
- Locks closed without glue or tape, which saves a consumable and a step
Disadvantages
- Hand-locking takes longer per box than a taped or glued closure

Folding boxboard or solid bleached board, typically 250–450 microns. Heavier board for larger cartons, lighter where the carton is filled by machine.

ECMA 2022 code confirmed against both the 1992-to-2022 conversion table and the printed plate, and scored 0.952 against it (cut 0.999/1, crease 1/1). BADGED BY HAND, because grant-badges.py holds back any code whose fold pattern a sibling shares and this one shares its pattern with three. Settled the way that rule intends — by measuring what separates them. Scored against each sibling plate in turn, this drawing reads 0.660 against A55.20.01.03 and 0.650 against A61.20.01.03, so the snap-lock and auto-bottom readings are ruled out decisively. It reads 0.950 against A20.20.01.03, which is NOT ruled out and cannot be: RTE-INV is this blank mirrored, and the comparison normalises mirrors because a die can be flipped. So the only thing this could be confused with is a drawing of the same shape, which is why the badge — a claim about the blank, not about which way round it is printed — is safe to make.
