What is Seal End carton?

Seal End carton is a folding carton with a glued side seam, closing at each end with a tuck, a lock or a glued flap. Both ends are glued shut on the packing line rather than tucked. Fast to fill at speed and tamper-evident, which is why food and pharma use it. Not reclosable.

Uses

Retail and gift packaging, where the box is seen by the customer
High-volume packing lines, since a pre-glued blank erects in one movement

Advantages

Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
Arrives glued and flat, and erects quickly by hand or by machine

Disadvantages

The glued joint sets the minimum order — short runs are rarely economical

Folding boxboard or solid bleached board, typically 250–450 microns. Heavier board for larger cartons, lighter where the carton is filled by machine.

A70.70.00.00 was claimed here as confirmed against the printed plate. It is not that plate. Read as vectors, p.31's A70.70.00.00 blank is a plain rectangle 130.5 by 97.5 with no cut line anywhere inside it: glue lap, four panels, and closure bands carrying 45-degree V creases that meet at the centre of each side panel, i.e. a gusset folded shut and glued, drawn entirely in fold lines. A square-flap skillet is cut flaps, and the two disagree on the whole outline, which is why our SEAL only reaches 0.483 against it with a crease agreement of 0.483. A70 is the only A70 code in ECMA_STYLES, so there is no near neighbour to move the claim to, and it is dropped rather than guessed at.
