What is Tapered display tray?
Tapered display tray is a folding carton with a glued side seam, closing at each end with a tuck, a lock or a glued flap. The walls flare outward so the tray is wider at the top than the base. Trays nest inside each other for shipping, and the slope angles the contents towards the customer on a shelf.

- Transit and e-commerce packing, where the box is handled by a carrier
- Retail and gift packaging, where the box is seen by the customer
Advantages
- Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
Disadvantages
- No standard style suits every product; check the fit against a sample before committing to a tool

Folding boxboard or solid bleached board, typically 250–450 microns. Heavier board for larger cartons, lighter where the carton is filled by machine.
