What is Inverted Reverse Tuck End?
Inverted Reverse Tuck End is a folding carton with a glued side seam, closing at each end with a tuck, a lock or a glued flap. A reverse tuck with the two ends swapped: the top tuck folds from the front and the bottom from the back. Same board usage, but it puts the opening tuck on the face the customer sees first.
Uses
- Retail and gift packaging, where the box is seen by the customer
Advantages
- Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
- Locks closed without glue or tape, which saves a consumable and a step
Disadvantages
- Hand-locking takes longer per box than a taped or glued closure

- General packing and light manufacturing
Recommended board grades
Folding boxboard or solid bleached board, typically 250–450 microns. Heavier board for larger cartons, lighter where the carton is filled by machine.
