Double tuck base, open top is a folding carton with a glued side seam, closing at each end with a tuck, a lock or a glued flap. Two tuck flaps closing the base against each other, with the top left open. The double tuck holds far better than a single one when the carton is picked up by the body.
Uses
- Retail and gift packaging, where the box is seen by the customer
Advantages
- Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
- Locks closed without glue or tape, which saves a consumable and a step
Disadvantages
- Hand-locking takes longer per box than a taped or glued closure

Folding boxboard or solid bleached board, typically 250–450 microns. Heavier board for larger cartons, lighter where the carton is filled by machine.

ECMA 2022 code newly claimed, and this template already drew it. The p.23 plate leaves the top edge of the blank a plain cut line and hangs one tuck lid, tongue and all, over the THIRD panel from the glue seam with a dust flap either side of it — which is this template's own spec, and what 20/01 and the trailing 03 say. Defaulted at the proportions the plate is drawn at (side panel 0.750 of the front, carton 1.875 of it tall) rather than the round 100x60x150 it carried before.
