What is Flared wrap-around?
Flared wrap-around is a rigid or lined folding carton. A glued wrap whose top face is longer than its base, so the two side walls lean out and the pack flares toward the top. Open at both ends, hook-locked either side of the top panel.
Uses
- High-volume packing lines, since a pre-glued blank erects in one movement
Advantages
- Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
- Arrives glued and flat, and erects quickly by hand or by machine
Disadvantages
- The glued joint sets the minimum order — short runs are rarely economical

Recommended board grades
Folding boxboard or solid bleached board, typically 250–450 microns. Heavier board for larger cartons, lighter where the carton is filled by machine.

Scored against the ECMA 2022 plate on page 61 with scripts/plate-diff.py: 1.000, MATCH (cut 1.000/1.000, crease 1.000/1.000). Measurements are in the note on the E14 tapered wraps above; the flare is 4.1345 of a 33.68 wall, the top panel bows 1.757 over its middle 18.71, and the glue lap's free corners are rounded on 2.807 of a 7.020 lap.
