Uses
- Jobs where the depth or the fit has to be adjusted after packing
- High-volume packing lines, since a pre-glued blank erects in one movement
Advantages
- Arrives glued and flat, and erects quickly by hand or by machine
Disadvantages
- Needs 2 separate pieces, so there is more than one tool and more than one part to handle
- The glued joint sets the minimum order — short runs are rarely economical

Folding boxboard or solid bleached board, typically 250–450 microns. Heavier board for larger cartons, lighter where the carton is filled by machine.

Measured against the p.69 plate with scripts/plate-diff.py: score 0.934, MATCH, cut 0.947 found / 1.000 extra, crease 1.000 found / 0.934 extra, both plate pieces matched. The two blanks differ by exactly +0.68 on every panel, which is 2t at the plate's own 0.34 caliper, so the clearance here is board thickness and not a fixed ratio. The remaining crease difference is in the reference: on the inner tray the plate carries no hinge crease under the fourth panel's dust flap, though it draws one under the second's and draws both on the outer tray, and this template draws both on both. The tongue's fold is a crease line on the bottom panel rather than a panel edge, because the plate puts it 3.40 short of each side and 0.34 inside the outline step; making it a panel of its own scored a crease across the full panel width and cost 0.013.
