Channel cover with a funnel opening Box Template Generator
Channel cover with a funnel opening. A flat sheet creased into a shallow channel, with a rectangular opening punched through the top face whose four sides fold inward as a funnel — two trapezoids and two triangles meeting on a line across the middle.
Checked against the plate. This blank has been compared side by side with the drawing in the FEFCO Code, 12th Edition, and matches. That is a statement about the drawing, not a guarantee — always cut and fold a sample before committing to a die.
What is Channel cover with a funnel opening?
Channel cover with a funnel opening is a carton insert or fitment. A flat sheet creased into a shallow channel, with a rectangular opening punched through the top face whose four sides fold inward as a funnel — two trapezoids and two triangles meeting on a line across the middle.
Uses
- General packing where a simple, economical board box is wanted
Advantages
- Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
Disadvantages
- No standard style suits every product; check the fit against a sample before committing to a tool
Typical industries
- General packing and light manufacturing
Recommended board grades
Folding boxboard or solid bleached board, typically 250–450 microns. Heavier board for larger cartons, lighter where the carton is filled by machine.

Measured against the p.83 plate with scripts/plate-diff.py: score 1.000, MATCH, cut 1.000 found / 1.000 extra, crease 1.000 / 1.000. A rectangle 130.48 by 104.38 with two full-width folds at 26.09 and 78.29 — bands of H, 2H, H at H = 26.09 — and a window 65.24 by 26.10 punched through the middle band, creased on all four sides and cut into four in-folding flaps that meet on a line 13.04 in from each short edge. Every relief cut is at 45 degrees and 13.05 is exactly half the band, so the whole plate is a function of A and H alone; this template therefore takes two dimensions rather than three. L is the finished cover — the whole width of the sheet, and the length of the folded channel — and the plate's A is half of it.
