Uses
- Retail and gift packaging, where the box is seen by the customer
- High-volume packing lines, since a pre-glued blank erects in one movement
Advantages
- Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
- Arrives glued and flat, and erects quickly by hand or by machine
Disadvantages
- The glued joint sets the minimum order — short runs are rarely economical

ECMA 2022 code newly claimed. The p.24 plate hangs the tuck lid BELOW the body over the third panel from the glue seam and closes the top with the reduced "11" band, whose one full-depth flap sits over the FIRST panel — 20/11 for the two closures, 03 and 01 for the two panels.
