What is FEFCO 0203?

FEFCO 0203 is cut from one piece, glued or stitched along a single manufacturer’s joint, and shipped flat. Flaps fold in at both ends to close it. Every flap runs the full breadth, so the top and bottom are two complete layers of board. The strongest case in the slotted family and the one to reach for when the load is heavy or the handling is rough.

Uses

• Transit and e-commerce packing, where the box is handled by a carrier

Advantages

• Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
• The most widely made board box there is, so it is quick to source and cheap per unit

Disadvantages

• The flaps meet but do not overlap, so the ends are the weakest part of the box

Recommended board grades

Single wall B or C flute for most shipping. Double wall BC or EB where the load is heavy, the box is large, or it will be stacked several high in a warehouse.
