FEFCO 0217 Box Template Generator

Self-locking carry box with handle. The 1-2-3 locking bottom under a carrying top. Each long flap folds at half the breadth and carries on into a handle band above it, punched with a hand hole and notched at both ends, so the two handles stand up together when the box is shut. The end flaps are gabled to a point and slit up the middle for the handles to pass. The takeaway and party-pack box.

What is FEFCO 0217?

FEFCO 0217 is cut from one piece, glued or stitched along a single manufacturer’s joint, and shipped flat. Flaps fold in at both ends to close it. The 1-2-3 locking bottom under a carrying top. Advantages

Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
Locks closed without glue or tape, which saves a consumable and a step
The most widely made board box there is, so it is quick to source and cheap per unit

Disadvantages

The flaps meet but do not overlap, so the ends are the weakest part of the box
Hand-locking takes longer per box than a taped or glued closure

Single wall B or C flute for most shipping. Double wall BC or EB where the load is heavy, the box is large, or it will be stacked several high in a warehouse.
