FEFCO 0241 Box Template Generator

Slotted container with grip tabs through a slit. The handle is on the end panels here. Each end flap reaches half the length so the pair meets on the centreline, then carries a further band that stands up off that crease with a grip cut-out through it; the two stand back to back. One long flap folds a full breadth across the top with a lip beyond it and is slit down its centreline so the standing grips come through. The other long panel has no top flap at all. Hand-locked 1-2-3 bottom.

Not yet plate-checked. This template folds, closes and exports cleanly, but its blank has not yet been matched against the standard's own drawing in detail. Treat it as a starting point and check it before you spend anything.

What is FEFCO 0241?

FEFCO 0241 is cut from one piece, glued or stitched along a single manufacturer’s joint, and shipped flat. Flaps fold in at both ends to close it. The handle is on the end panels here. Uses

General packing where a simple, economical board box is wanted

Advantages

Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
Locks closed without glue or tape, which saves a consumable and a step
The most widely made board box there is, so it is quick to source and cheap per unit

Disadvantages

The flaps meet but do not overlap, so the ends are the weakest part of the box
Hand-locking takes longer per box than a taped or glued closure

Single wall B or C flute for most shipping. Double wall BC or EB where the load is heavy, the box is large, or it will be stacked several high in a warehouse.
