What is FEFCO 0205?

FEFCO 0205 is cut from one piece, glued or stitched along a single manufacturer’s joint, and shipped flat. Flaps fold in at both ends to close it. Every flap is half the length. The flaps on the breadth panels meet at the centre while those on the length panels overlap well past it, so the top is double-covered across its whole width.

Uses

• Transit and e-commerce packing, where the box is handled by a carrier

Advantages

• Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
• The most widely made board box there is, so it is quick to source and cheap per unit

Disadvantages

• The flaps meet but do not overlap, so the ends are the weakest part of the box

Recommended board grades

Single wall B or C flute for most shipping. Double wall BC or EB where the load is heavy, the box is large, or it will be stacked several high in a warehouse.
