FEFCO 0219 Box Template Generator

Slotted container with carrying flaps. Both long top flaps run the full breadth deep instead of the usual half, and each folds again at the top — one over a tab across the middle of its edge, the other over a thumb-notched band the whole width of the panel. One is punched with a hand-hole for carrying, the other with two round finger holes and a latching tongue at its foot. The end flaps are shallower than usual, and the case closes underneath on the same hand-locked "1-2-3" bottom as 0216.

What is FEFCO 0219?

FEFCO 0219 is cut from one piece, glued or stitched along a single manufacturer’s joint, and shipped flat. Flaps fold in at both ends to close it. Uses

Advantages

Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
Locks closed without glue or tape, which saves a consumable and a step
The most widely made board box there is, so it is quick to source and cheap per unit

Disadvantages

The flaps meet but do not overlap, so the ends are the weakest part of the box
Hand-locking takes longer per box than a taped or glued closure
