What is FEFCO 0206?

FEFCO 0206 is cut from one piece, glued or stitched along a single manufacturer’s joint, and shipped flat. Flaps fold in at both ends to close it. Flaps on the length panels run the full width while those on the width panels are half the length, so the outer pair cover the whole opening and the inner pair meet beneath them. Double thickness across the top without the board of a full overlap both ways.

Uses

• Transit and e-commerce packing, where the box is handled by a carrier

Advantages

• Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
• The most widely made board box there is, so it is quick to source and cheap per unit

Disadvantages

• The flaps meet but do not overlap, so the ends are the weakest part of the box

Single wall B or C flute for most shipping. Double wall BC or EB where the load is heavy, the box is large, or it will be stacked several high in a warehouse.
