What is FEFCO 0215?

FEFCO 0215 is cut from one piece, glued or stitched along a single manufacturer’s joint, and shipped flat. Flaps fold in at both ends to close it. The hand-locked 1-2-3 bottom with a full lid hinged off one long panel. Ships flat, locks shut underneath and recloses on top, all without tape.

Uses

• General packing where a simple, economical board box is wanted

Advantages

• Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
• Locks closed without glue or tape, which saves a consumable and a step
• The most widely made board box there is, so it is quick to source and cheap per unit

Disadvantages

• The flaps meet but do not overlap, so the ends are the weakest part of the box
• Hand-locking takes longer per box than a taped or glued closure

Recommended board grades

Single wall B or C flute for most shipping. Double wall BC or EB where the load is heavy, the box is large, or it will be stacked several high in a warehouse.
