What is FEFCO 0230?

FEFCO 0230 is cut from one piece, glued or stitched along a single manufacturer’s joint, and shipped flat. Flaps fold in at both ends to close it. The split body again with a generous overlap, so the divider standing inside is a full double thickness rather than a single sheet. Strong enough to carry weight between the two compartments.

Uses

• Transit and e-commerce packing, where the box is handled by a carrier
• Protecting or separating goods inside a larger case

Advantages

• Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
• The most widely made board box there is, so it is quick to source and cheap per unit
• Cut from offcuts or lighter board than the outer case, so it adds little cost

Disadvantages

• The flaps meet but do not overlap, so the ends are the weakest part of the box

Recommended board grades

Single wall B or C flute for most shipping. Double wall BC or EB where the load is heavy, the box is large, or it will be stacked several high in a warehouse.
