What is FEFCO 0228?

FEFCO 0228 is cut from one piece, glued or stitched along a single manufacturer’s joint, and shipped flat. Flaps fold in at both ends to close it. Advantages

Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock

The most widely made board box there is, so it is quick to source and cheap per unit
Cut from offcuts or lighter board than the outer case, so it adds little cost

Disadvantages

The glued joint sets the minimum order — short runs are rarely economical
The flaps meet but do not overlap, so the ends are the weakest part of the box
