FEFCO 0404 Box Template Generator
Two crossed folders. Two separate blanks, each a plain five-panel strip with four creases and nothing else on it. The inner one runs ½L, H, L, H, ½L; the outer runs ½W, H, W, H, ½W and is cut a board thickness oversize so it wraps the inner at right angles. Every face of the finished box ends up double.

What is FEFCO 0404?
FEFCO 0404 is cut and creased from a single blank that folds up around the product, usually without a glued joint. Two separate blanks, each a plain five-panel strip with four creases and nothing else on it. The inner one runs ½L, H, L, H, ½L; the outer runs ½W, H, W, H, ½W and is cut a board thickness oversize so it wraps the inner at right angles. Every face of the finished box ends up double.
Uses
- Jobs where the depth or the fit has to be adjusted after packing
Advantages
- A standard construction, so most converters can quote it from the code alone
Disadvantages
- Needs 2 separate pieces, so there is more than one tool and more than one part to handle

Recommended board grades
Single wall B or E flute. E flute where the outside will be printed, since the finer flute takes a cleaner print and creases more sharply.
