What is FEFCO 0421?
FEFCO 0421 is cut and creased from a single blank that folds up around the product, usually without a glued joint. The base-locking tray with a plain lid hinged off a side wall. Tabs on the returned front/back walls push down through slits cut into their own fold band, so the box locks square by hand with no glue and no tape.
Uses
- Retail and gift packaging, where the box is seen by the customer
- High-volume packing lines, since a pre-glued blank erects in one movement
Advantages
- Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
- Arrives glued and flat, and erects quickly by hand or by machine
Disadvantages
- The glued joint sets the minimum order — short runs are rarely economical

Single wall B or E flute. E flute where the outside will be printed, since the finer flute takes a cleaner print and creases more sharply.
