FEFCO 0406 Box Template Generator
Glued tube with end flaps all round. Four body panels — W, H, W, H — glued into a tube on a tapered lap, with an end flap on every panel at both ends. The flaps are drawn short of half the height, so they overlap at the corners without closing the end off.
Not yet plate-checked. This template folds, closes and exports cleanly, but its blank has not yet been matched against the standard's own drawing in detail. Treat it as a starting point and check it before you spend anything.
What is FEFCO 0406?
FEFCO 0406 is cut and creased from a single blank that folds up around the product, usually without a glued joint. Four body panels — W, H, W, H — glued into a tube on a tapered lap, with an end flap on every panel at both ends. The flaps are drawn short of half the height, so they overlap at the corners without closing the end off.
Uses
- High-volume packing lines, since a pre-glued blank erects in one movement
Advantages
- Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
- Arrives glued and flat, and erects quickly by hand or by machine
Disadvantages
- The glued joint sets the minimum order — short runs are rarely economical

Recommended board grades
Single wall B or E flute. E flute where the outside will be printed, since the finer flute takes a cleaner print and creases more sharply.
