What is FEFCO 0454?
FEFCO 0454 is cut and creased from a single blank that folds up around the product, usually without a glued joint. The two side walls fold up and back on themselves for a doubled face, and each corner is closed by a plain ear running the full width of that doubled wall, hinged to the end wall and slit free of both plies. Open top, no locks.
Uses
- General packing where a simple, economical board box is wanted
Advantages
- Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
- Locks closed without glue or tape, which saves a consumable and a step
Disadvantages
- Hand-locking takes longer per box than a taped or glued closure

Single wall B or E flute. E flute where the outside will be printed, since the finer flute takes a cleaner print and creases more sharply.
