FEFCO 0424 Box Template Generator
Base-locking tray, double front and back walls. The front and back walls fold up and back on themselves, and tabs on the returned inner wall drop through slits in the base — the same lock as 0422, moved onto the other pair of walls. The side walls are plain and single.
Not yet plate-checked. This template folds, closes and exports cleanly, but its blank has not yet been matched against the standard's own drawing in detail. Treat it as a starting point and check it before you spend anything.
What is FEFCO 0424?
FEFCO 0424 is cut and creased from a single blank that folds up around the product, usually without a glued joint. The front and back walls fold up and back on themselves, and tabs on the returned inner wall drop through slits in the base — the same lock as 0422, moved onto the other pair of walls. The side walls are plain and single.
Uses
- General packing where a simple, economical board box is wanted
Advantages
- Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
- Locks closed without glue or tape, which saves a consumable and a step
Disadvantages
- Hand-locking takes longer per box than a taped or glued closure

Recommended board grades
Single wall B or E flute. E flute where the outside will be printed, since the finer flute takes a cleaner print and creases more sharply.
