FEFCO 0409 Box Template Generator
One-piece tray with glued corners and hinged lid. Laid out as a single run of panels — front wall, base, back wall, lid, lid lip — with a flap at each end of every one of them. The corners close by gluing the wall flaps onto the base flap, which leaves the side walls smooth.
Not yet plate-checked. This template folds, closes and exports cleanly, but its blank has not yet been matched against the standard's own drawing in detail. Treat it as a starting point and check it before you spend anything.
What is FEFCO 0409?
FEFCO 0409 is cut and creased from a single blank that folds up around the product, usually without a glued joint. Laid out as a single run of panels — front wall, base, back wall, lid, lid lip — with a flap at each end of every one of them. The corners close by gluing the wall flaps onto the base flap, which leaves the side walls smooth.
Uses
- Retail and gift packaging, where the box is seen by the customer
- High-volume packing lines, since a pre-glued blank erects in one movement
Advantages
- Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
- Arrives glued and flat, and erects quickly by hand or by machine
Disadvantages
- The glued joint sets the minimum order — short runs are rarely economical

Single wall B or E flute. E flute where the outside will be printed, since the finer flute takes a cleaner print and creases more sharply.
