What is FEFCO 0456?
FEFCO 0456 is cut and creased from a single blank that folds up around the product, usually without a glued joint. Every wall folds up and back on itself, and each corner is closed by a block about two wall heights square that carries the side wall fold straight through it. The load path runs down four doubled columns rather than through the wall panels.
Uses
- General packing where a simple, economical board box is wanted
Advantages
- Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
- Locks closed without glue or tape, which saves a consumable and a step
Disadvantages
- Hand-locking takes longer per box than a taped or glued closure

Single wall B or E flute. E flute where the outside will be printed, since the finer flute takes a cleaner print and creases more sharply.
