FEFCO 0422 Box Template Generator
One-piece tray with base-locking double walls. The side walls fold up and back on themselves, and tabs on the returned inner wall push down through slits cut in the base. That locks the tray square with no glue and no tape, and leaves a doubled wall on the two long faces.
Not yet plate-checked. This template folds, closes and exports cleanly, but its blank has not yet been matched against the standard's own drawing in detail. Treat it as a starting point and check it before you spend anything.
What is FEFCO 0422?
FEFCO 0422 is cut and creased from a single blank that folds up around the product, usually without a glued joint. The side walls fold up and back on themselves, and tabs on the returned inner wall push down through slits cut in the base. That locks the tray square with no glue and no tape, and leaves a doubled wall on the two long faces.
Uses
- Retail and gift packaging, where the box is seen by the customer
- High-volume packing lines, since a pre-glued blank erects in one movement
Advantages
- Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
- Arrives glued and flat, and erects quickly by hand or by machine
Disadvantages
- The glued joint sets the minimum order — short runs are rarely economical

Single wall B or E flute. E flute where the outside will be printed, since the finer flute takes a cleaner print and creases more sharply.
