What is FEFCO 0436?
FEFCO 0436 is cut and creased from a single blank that folds up around the product, usually without a glued joint. A shallow tray whose four walls fold back on themselves for a double-thick rim, closed by a rounded lock at each corner. Stack tabs stand proud of the two end walls and drop into slots in the tray below, so a loaded stack stays put.
Uses
- Retail and gift packaging, where the box is seen by the customer
Advantages
- Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
- Locks closed without glue or tape, which saves a consumable and a step
Disadvantages
- Hand-locking takes longer per box than a taped or glued closure

Single wall B or E flute. E flute where the outside will be printed, since the finer flute takes a cleaner print and creases more sharply.
