What is FEFCO 0472?
FEFCO 0472 is cut and creased from a single blank that folds up around the product, usually without a glued joint. A run of six panels closing with a swept cover flap that has a thumb notch cut into its free edge. Each end of the deep wall folds up as a three-panel U, with a slot on one crease and a tab on the far wing that locks into it.
Uses
- General packing where a simple, economical board box is wanted
Advantages
- Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
- Locks closed without glue or tape, which saves a consumable and a step
Disadvantages
- Hand-locking takes longer per box than a taped or glued closure

Single wall B or E flute. E flute where the outside will be printed, since the finer flute takes a cleaner print and creases more sharply.
