What is FEFCO 0440?
FEFCO 0440 is cut and creased from a single blank that folds up around the product, usually without a glued joint. A six-panel run — return lip, wall, base, wall, lid, lid lip — with full-height corner ears on the three tray panels, a shallower flap on the lid and nothing on either lip. The lid is cut a board thickness oversize so it drops over the assembled tray.
Uses
- High-volume packing lines, since a pre-glued blank erects in one movement
Advantages
- Cut from a single blank, so there is one tool and one part to stock
- Arrives glued and flat, and erects quickly by hand or by machine
Disadvantages
- The glued joint sets the minimum order — short runs are rarely economical

Recommended board grades
Single wall B or E flute. E flute where the outside will be printed, since the finer flute takes a cleaner print and creases more sharply.
